To find the right deodorant is not easy. Especially, when you’re mindful and prefer to use products based on natural ingredients. Ben and Anna thought so too and so they came up with their own deodorant: vegan, free of aluminum and, of course, based on natural ingredients only.
Everyone knows it: the challenge of finding a new deodorant. Usually, it’s the simple fact that our deodorant at home is empty which gives us the idea of trying something different. Sometimes, however, it’s also a vague feeling of change, the desire for a new fragrance or a new debate about one of these controversial ingredients. And, here we go: standing in front of the shelves, we take a look around the numerous products. There’s the deodorant which used to be the girls’ favourite in 7th and 8th grade. And there’s the one I know from all these TV ads. This must be the new bestseller among the gymnastics-mommies. At least, I recognize its design. The label says it smells fresh and feminine – suggesting that it was the only deodorant which is promoted with these features. Honestly, how about something really special? A new formula, maybe a natural deodorant. Something non-mainstream.< /p>

The natural deodorant without aluminium
Deodorant, eye shadow, shampoo or make-up: many cosmetic products are based on ingredients which may not only be dangerous to health but also environmentally harmful. As a result many consumer advice centres in Europe have been warning against several parabens, synthetics as well as against antiperspirants containing aluminium. Furthermore, it has been reported that many popular cosmetics companies still carry out animal testing in order to sell their product in China for example. On the downside, this means that every year millions of animals are exposed to extreme cruelty in the name of beauty. At the same time, however, the findings resulting from these experiments are highly controversial and alternative cosmetic products, such as natural deodorants without aluminium, are said to be less effective – a huge dilemma for consumers who are unwilling to compromise on health and effectiveness.
People paying attention to their body care and physical appearance are said to have advantages in many parts of private and public life. But what do well-groomed hair, a tiny bit of makeup and a nice perfume help you if your deodorant is a flop and sweat stains become visible under your armpits? Jesus! For many people, a scenario like this is absolutely horrible. Because people who really pay attention to their hygiene do not show sweat stains, do they? At least one thing is for sure: The way we think about natural, normal transpiration has already become abnormal.
Besides the usual cosmetics and deodorants, dozens of natural cosmetic products recently hit the shelves. Since then, these natural cosmetics have become more and more popular, allegedly because conventional cosmetic products are still under suspicion of containing controversial ingredients. With regards to deodorants, the focus in this context clearly lies on aluminium – a particular ingredient which for some is said to be cancer-causing. However, manufacturers have learned something: nowadays, more and more aluminium-free deodorants are brought to market. And there is more to it than that. Especially natural cosmetics producers attempt to promote their products by using an additional selling point such as “vegan”. But what does it really stand for?
